Formulation Scientist

Design and perform experiments leading to development of rational, scientifically sound formulations and manufacturing processes. Formulate new products to customer specifications. Improve existing formulations and manufacturing processes for current products as necessary. Assist in obtaining, evaluation, and selecting raw materials and components that can be validated in compliance with FDA and other applicable regulations and can be produced at acceptable cost. Initiate stability studies. Oversee product process validation. Collaborate with validations group to transfer technology from Formulations and Process Development, to complete validations as required by cGMPs. Cooperate with analytical chemists in QC Lab regarding assay/analysis of new formulations and development of appropriate control procedures. Communicate with Business Development, Validations, Production Planning, Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Participate in preparation of product reviews and evaluation of data, including proposed changes for improving the product. Responsible for staying current with new develops in regulations, company SOPs, documentation requirements, and safety rules. Assure that USP procedures are applied .

Education Required: BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Science, or foreign equivalent.
Experience Required: 12 months in the position, or as an Engineer.
Special Requirements:   Professional Certification as a Pharmaceutical Technologist
